SB721 was not created simply to generate reports.

It exists to confirm the true condition and safety of exterior elevated elements.

A thorough inspection process helps property owners make informed decisions, prioritize repairs appropriately, and reduce the risk of overlooked conditions that could impact long-term safety and performance.

  • Some SB-721 inspections are performed using surface-level evaluation methods that may limit visibility into underlying structural conditions.

  • Tools such as moisture meters, infrared cameras, and exterior observations can provide useful information, but they may not always reveal concealed damage, installation deficiencies, or structural alterations within the assembly.

Where access openings are required, we incorporate Brandguard ember resistant soffit vents that allow future inspection access while maintaining appearance and weather/fire protection.

Vents can help simplify future evaluations, support ongoing maintenance, and reduce unnecessary damage during future inspection cycles and included the added benefit of ventilation to prevent dry rot if moisture does make its way into the joist bay.
